Out now via Joy of Life International, 'Monument to Effort' is the first single and title track of South London-dwelling quintet Sculpture Park's debut album. Combining piano, cello, sax, drums and guitar, the versatile outfit are a kind of lowkey supergroup. Made up of members of Qlowski, Spirit Blue and The Golden Dregs, Sculpture Park poses a therapeutic venture, fusing disparate reference points with confidence and good taste. 'Monument to Effort' is an excellent example of this. Captured live at underground jazz and experimental hub Total Refreshment Centre by producer Ben Woods, there's something so precious about their dedication to the take - in knowing you've captured a moment in time and the fact that it will never be repeated. Set for a spring release on the 4th of April, the LP promises nourishment and intrigue at the very least. -Holly Mullineaux
